The Way Things Are

Saturday, whilst father and brother are off on church camp-out, aka "Father's and Sons" :

#1: Mom, Dad is 100 and you are 99

me: Ok.

#1: See, it's like this.  (demonstrating with hands held at different levels) Dad is here (top hand) and you are here (bottom hand).

me: Ok.

#1: I would love you more if you worked.

Maybe she has a point. You know, maybe you could use a break. Anyone who says working is harder than staying at home has definitely never done both. #1 also might miss you more ; )

You don't work hard enough, clearly. :)

Oh...do we laugh or cry at that one? BTW, are you going to try homeschooling? I brought home a stack of books 14" deep from the library to read up on the subject. I'd love to know your thoughts, pros/cons, inspirations, etc.

PS I think kindergarten would be a pretty easy year to do it. Just a thought.

PPS or is it PSS? Anyway, I agree with you on your breakdown of The Host. Very good, a little drawn out, Wanda bugged the heck out of me, and it really threw me for a loop when her new self was a tiny teenager. I was expecting someone different that who it ended up being.
